Bramble Wood Bears

The Bramble Wood Bears are medium sized bruins. They range from 16cm to 26cm when standing. Being larger that Clover Copse Bears their tummies are filled with plastic pellets. This gives them substance without making them too heavy.

The Bramble Wood Bear Collection started with a bear I designed for my son, Felix. All Bramble Wood bears therefore originate from the Felix bear pattern. The first Bramble Wood kit bear was Milo. The Milo kit was designed with the beginner bear maker in mind. However, no corners have been cut! Only the very best materials are used for Jacqueline’s Bears Kits. Therefore, these kits also please the more experienced bear maker.

Heir to the Bramble Wood Bear collection. All Bramble Wood Bears have Felix in their heritage. Felix by far the first bear I have designed however, he is the first bear designed specifically for Jacqueline’s Bears. Like his namesake Felix is the perfect gentleman. Friendly, affectionate, with sound morals and a great sense of humour. Felix like many Bramble Wood bears loves a little luxury, such as silk waistcoats.

Milo was originally designed as a beginners bear for workshops. He is now the original Bramble Wood Bear kit. This kit is now sold as Nico. The Nico kit contains all the specialist materials, pattern and instructions for making your very own traditional, fully jointed, mohair teddy bear. Nico is still used as the beginner bear making kit at Jacqueline’s workshops. The Nico kit with a beautiful coloured step-by-step  instruction booklet can be purchased from Jacqueline.

Milo was originally designed as a intermediate bear for workshops. He is more challenging to make than Nico due to the directional style of the mohair. The Roxy kit contains all the specialist materials, pattern and instructions for making your very own traditional, fully jointed, mohair teddy bear. Roxy is used as the intermediate bear making kit at Jacqueline’s workshops. The Roxy kit with a beautiful coloured step-by-step  instruction booklet can be purchased from Jacqueline.

Designing and making bears and their accessories is an ongoing process. There is never enough time because there is always time, for one more bear! As a result, bears are constantly coming up for adoption or can be commissioned. Like all the bears made for Jacqueline’s Bears the bears in the Bramble Wood Collection are all OOAK. One-Of-A-Kind. Consequently, making them totally unique. Jacqueline has oodles of mohair and paw pad material. After making Nico, Roxy and/or Tilly workshop bear makers have an opportunity to make a One of a Kind bear.

Jacqueline runs 2-day, mixed ability, small group bear & bunny making workshops, in various venues, at scheduled times throughout the year. Do come and join us!
