Heirloom Bluebell Bears
When the bluebells appear in the woods at the top of our village we know that summer is fast approaching. They appear overnight and in abundance. Beautiful blankets of blue. Bluebells are a delicate flower and protected in Great Britain under the wildlife and country act of 1981. Our village woods are old, well loved by the locals and I’m sure could tell a tale or two. Just like my Heritage Bluebell Bears.
Heirloom Bluebell Bears are wise, knowledgeable and mellow. Each one has a history, a past, a story. They have been there and done that. They do not judge. Heirloom Bluebell Bears appreciate the simple things in life. They value family, friendship, autumn colours and the warm kiss of a summer breeze. They are limited and come in all shapes and sizes!
Introducing the Heirloom Bluebell Bears – Smoky
Smoky is the first of Jacqueline’s Heirloom Bluebell collection. Heirloom Bluebells bears are limited edition bears. Smoky is an entertainer just like the gentleman who inspired his creation. He is an inventor, a problem solver, he fixes stuff. He is a collector, a singer, an actor. Smoky is far from an ordinary bear.
This traditional 1920’s style bear is cuddly and soft to the touch. Smoky is fully cotter pin jointed and sits beautifully at 16cm. He measures 21cm when standing. Smoky is made using light grey 100% ratinee, multi-directional mohair with grey ultra suede paw and foot pads; has black glass eyes and a black hand embroidered nose and mouth.
Fern
Fern is the second of Jacqueline’s Heirloom Bluebell collection. Heirloom Bluebell bears are limited edition bears. Smoky was the first heirloom bear created in honour of my father when he passed away. Well I couldn’t possibly have a limited edition bear for my father without having one for my mother. That just wouldn’t do! My mother’s favourite colour was green. Fern, like the person who inspired her was a gentle sole who dotted on her family, loving nothing more than a get-together with lots of homemade treats.
This traditional 1920’s style bear is cuddly and very soft to the touch. Fern is fully jointed and sits beautifully at 15cm. She measures 22cm when standing. Fern is made using green 100% ratinee, multi-directional mohair and green ultrasuede paw and foot pads; has black glass eyes and a black hand embroidered nose and mouth.
Workshop Dates
Jacqueline runs mixed ability small group embroidery workshops, in various venues, at scheduled times throughout the year.
