Mrs Duttons Wondrous Workshops - Ilkley
Jacqueline has run workshops at Mrs Duttons Wondrous Workshops for several years now. With full window frontage this workspace is fabulous for light. Ilkley is easily accessable and has an abundance of shopping opportunities and great restaurants. As a workshop venue this is a great all rounder whether local or travelling from further afield and wanting to get to know a little more of fabulous Yorkshire.
Mrs Duttons Wondrous Workshops used to be the haberdashery shop Duttons for Buttons, Ilkley. Recently the space has been newly renovated into a glamorous workroom for all sorts of crafting disciplines. Light, airy and spacious Mrs Duttons Wondrous Workroom is situated in the centre of idyllic Ilkley. Jacqueline invites you to come and join us for some workshop fun with like minded folk.
Day 1 will be about cutting out your mohair and stitching the body parts together using mostly back stitch, and some whip stitch, to secure tricky bits. We’ll begin inserting cotter pin joints then stutffing and then sticthing the arms and legs closed using ladder stitch.
Day 2 will be about stuffing and moulding the head. Inserting eyes, attching ears and embroidering the snout. We’ll then be able to attach the cotter pin joints and assemble our bear or bunny.
All the materials you need will be provided, in your bespoke kit. Before going home each day you can treat yourself to a walk around York. You can bring your own lunch or try one of the numerous restaurants right on the doorstep. This workshop also comes with a voucher giving you 10% off Duttons shop purchases and your next workshops booked at Duttons.
